By sharing out the student’s work in the form of an interactive performance, Tune Up Philly allows audience members to become an active part of the artistic process. This allows students and audience members to come together and share in a powerful experience, encouraging creativity, togetherness and artistic development in their communities. Imagine how this can extend past the performance. Can students and parents/guardians come together at home to practice some of the music that is shown in this performance?
“ Tune Up Philly is an Accessible Orchestra that curates repertoire and expands the realm of accompaniment, re-approaching the construct of Orchestra with methods to specifically support the cohort of students. The orchestral experience is expanding to ensure the audience and performers can be engaged equally, and our Youth Model of Orchestra builds from the performers outward to support strategic planning of a larger-scale public option. “
