How can students take an active role in the research process?

Play on Philly focuses on having students participate in their own education by incorporating leadership practices. This extends to research, as students are empowered to share their ideas and opinions about their own education. This contributes to a very important and often overlooked source of data - student voice. Students can take an active role in the research process by embracing leadership roles and sharing their experiences with teachers and researchers.

“At Play On Philly, we use the orchestral genre as the medium through which we develop life skills. POP is exploring how we can intentionally incorporate student leadership and voice at the high school level without sacrificing quality of music making.”
