Musicopia

Why is it vital to extend learning out of the classroom and school setting and into the students’ communities?

By bringing performances outside of school and into public spaces, Musicopia shows students that their hard work is important and enjoyed by others in their communities.
Having a bucket drumming lesson outside invites the public into the student’s curriculum and gives them a chance to learn more about the arts.

The ballroom dance performance in front of a mural unveiling shows how multidisciplinary arts can reach beyond the classroom. Musicopia’s public performances invigorate communities and create wider audiences for local students.

“Musicopia supports and connects to students and families in the surrounding communities of our Adopt-A-Schools and Drumlines locations to extend the social-emotional benefits of music education.”
