How can we measure successful collaboration in the classroom?

Koresh Kids provide a clear framework for collecting data during lessons. They accomplish this by creating preliminary questions with research practices in mind. Noting what was already happening in the classroom, creating a model for the students to be aware of their goals, and observing the students as they learn allows Koresh Kids Dance to research the effectiveness of their lesson model and analyze what could be done differently in the future.

“Koresh Kids Dance teaching artists understand what student collaboration looks like and how we can model and invite meaningful, successful artistic collaboration. Students creating dances in partners, small groups and as a whole class is a central goal of our curriculum. Koresh Kids Dance teaches social-emotional skills through a creative dance curriculum. Students explore fundamental elements of movement as tools to develop their own creative voice and connect to others. KKD teachers work to build relationships with students and to create a classroom environment where students feel able to take risks as artists and humans.”
